Park Profiles Week Eight
* Tim Stangle*
I met up with park crew's Tim Stangle for a rake run/ mini hike sesh earlier this week. Tim is a skier and boarder. He grew up skiing at Ski Ward in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. The ice and bumps were scary for Tim when he was little, so he got a snowboard and started riding park. He still remembers landing his first 180. He started watching Line Traveling Circus. "I thought those twin tippers were pretty neat, so I got back on the sticks," Tim said. He got into freestyle and backcountry before moving to Killington. He saw a telemark skier in the woods at Pico and thought it looked sick. Tim used a pair of kingpin bindings that were stuck in walk mode as his first free heel experience. He scored a second hand pair of boots, bindings, skins, and skis for cheap and started dropping a knee, and the rest is history.
