Week 2 - Hans Truckenbrod
December 1, 2024Last week in the K-1 gondola line, I asked Hans Truckenbrod to do an interview with me, and he said yes!
Hans is from Stockbridge. He grew up racing around New England. I asked him how many years he has been skiing he said, “you don’t even want to know! Since I was three”.
Hans started skiing Killington in the early 80’s. Growing up, he raced for UNH and even competed in the Europa Cup which is one division below the World Cup. Hans even took the W at a pro tour race held at Killington in 1982.
In the summer, Hans likes to spend his time riding his motocross bike. He builds jumps with an excavator on his friend’s property in Pittsfield.
Hans competes in the Killington Ski Bum Race every winter. It was great chatting with Hans about his history of skiing. He is so passionate about skiing and has been since he was three! It is so inspiring to hear about someone’s passion developing and evolving throughout the years.
Thank you, Hans, for chatting with me, and have a safe and fun winter!
