Week 4 - Eric Martin
December 17, 2024Last week, I met Eric Martin in the K-1 gondola line and asked if he would like to participate in my project. Thank you, Eric, for your participation!
Eric currently lives in Barre, Vermont. He is originally from western New York. “The skiing out there is kind of hill skiing”, he said. “As long as you are out on the snow, that’s the best thing in the world. I look forward to this every year.”
During the summer, Eric lives mostly in New York while he does his seasonal work. In the winter, he is a ski bum. Not a bad life!
Eric started snowboarding in 1995 and switched to skiing in 2020. He will still snowboard on powders days!
Eric loves Killington because of the amount of terrain. In addition to his Killington pass, he has an afternoon pass to Sugarbush. On top of resort skiing, he also does some backcountry in Montpelier, Orange, and Granville. Eric will snowshoe uphill and ski down.
In the summer, Eric enjoys hiking, camping, riding 4 wheelers at his friend’s camp in Lowell, kayaking, paddleboarding, and exploring the state parks.
Eric sure knows how to stay busy all year round. He is very excited to get a bunch of days in this ski season.
Eric, thanks for the interview, and have a safe and happy winter!
